We have taken a look at some of the big names who look set to be in action.

Dual Grand National hero Tiger Roll heads the 106 entries as he seeks to become only the second three-time winner of the Grand National after the mighty Red Rum (successful in 1973, 1974 and 1977). Tiger Roll, the 16/1 favourite, has not been seen since being pulled-up at Cheltenham over the Cross Country fences in November.

Tiger Roll’s trainer Gordon Elliott is the most successful current trainer in the Randox Grand National and one more victory would see him join Fred Rimell and Ginger McCain as the most successful Grand National handler of all time.

Elliott has 16 entries in total for this year’s event – the most of any trainer – which includes Delta Work, Presenting Percy and The Storyteller.

Haydock specialist Bristol De Mai (33/1) is a three-time winner of the Grade One Betfair Chase and connections are considering a trip across Merseyside to tackle the Grand National fences.

Other entries include Vieux Lion Rouge (40/1) who rolled back the years with a second win in the Becher Chase at Aintree last year and the unexposed The Conditional who won at the Cheltenham Festival in 2020.

The enigma that is Yorkhill (50/1) is part-owned by Road To Dubai winner and golfing star Lee Westwood. He won the Listed Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle on his latest start.

Owner Trevor Hemmings has won the Grand National three times courtesy of Hedgehunter (2005), Ballabriggs (2011) and Many Clouds (2015). He has three entries which include Cloth Cap (20/1) who was last seen winning the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in November and Lake View Lad (33/1) who captured the Many Clouds Chase at Aintree last time out.

Irish trainers are well represented with 43 of the 106 entries trained in Ireland. They include the Jessica Harrington-trained Magic Of Light (25/1) who was second in 2019 and Anibale Fly (33/1) who was fifth in the same renewal. Other interesting entries include Cheltenham Festival scorer Any Second Now (20/1) and two-time Cheltenham Festival winner Presenting Percy (20/1).

There are also two French-trained entries, both of whom hail from the yard of David Cottin. They are headed by Easysland (25/1) who defeated Tiger Roll in the 2020 Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Others who warrant a mention include multiple Grade One winner Delta Work (20/1), Classic Chase hero Kimberlite Candy (25/1) and recent Welsh Grand National winner Secret Reprieve (20/1)

However, the one who could be of interest is 20/1 shot Burrows Saint. He won the Irish Grand National last time out and remains open to plenty of progression this term for Willie Mullins.
