Northern League: In-form Moulton's knock cannot save Chorley

In one of the few games not to be affected by the weather, Fleetwood were three-wicket winners at Windsor Park.

Asked to bat first, Chorley put a decent 225 all out on the board in 50 overs.

Moulton, batting at four, hit two sixes and six fours on his way to 73 off 102 balls.

Gayan Maneeshan struck a half-century a place higher up the order, his 51 coming off 68 deliveries.

Andrew Holdsworth hit 30 lower down the order.

Fleetwood shared the wickets around, Alex Ryder, Damien Hutchinson and Neels Bergh taking two each.

There were three run-outs too, the final wicket falling that way.

In reply, Fleetwood chased down their target in 38 overs, posting 205-7.

The visitors’ top scorer was Adam Sharrocks with an unbeaten 54.

He faced only 43 balls for his half-century, with five of them sent to the boundary.

Bergh hit 39 and Declan Clerkin 37.

Joe Bell joined Sharrocks at the crease to see the job through, Bell hitting a quick 26 not out.

For Chorley, Gaurav Dhar returned figures of 4-60 and Moulton 2-54.

Fulwood and Broughton had a drawn game against Barrow at Highfield but it was the visitors who had much the better of the clash.

They took 10 points with them back to Cumbria, F&B making do with three.

Batting first, Barrow were 151 all out, having at one stage been 100-3.

The bulk of their runs came from their top three, with just one other batsman reaching double figures.

Arbab Munir was in fine form with the ball for F&B, taking 7-58 in 16 overs.

The hosts were 62-6 in 26 overs in reply, Rana Takur top scoring with 28.

Garstang’s clash with Blackpool fell foul of the weather.

The second innings was only four overs old when rain forced an abandonment.

Having been invited to bat first, Garstang were 140 all out in 47.1 overs.

Coen Oosthuysen hit six fours on his way to a knock of 32, Fayaz Ughradar adding 20.

At the bottom of the order, Danny Gilbert hit 21.

Bottom club Preston were beaten by leaders Netherfield at West Cliff.

In a rain-reduced meeting, Preston were 101-9.

Asif Mahmood hit 36 and skipper Nizam Patel 31.

Netherfield chased down their target in 13.1 overs, Lewis Edge hiting 63 not out.

Rain forced St Annes’ clash with Leyland at Vernon Road to be abandoned.

Leyland were put in by their hosts and were 113 all out – St Annes did not get the chance to start their reply.

Penrith beat Morecambe by seven wickets to give their survival hopes a big boost.
