The latter hosted the action at the weekend, getting the better of the opening game of the day against Garstang at Woodhill Lane.

Professional Luke Jongwe top scored with a run-a-ball 59 as the home side made 135-6 batting first.

The visitors came up seven runs short despite a quick-fire 40 from Michael Wellings.

F&B went through to the last four though on run rate after beating Morecambe in the second game of the day.

Simon Kerrigan led the way with 49 as the eventual group winners made 142-8 after electing to bat.

Ed Moulton took 3-5 as the hosts were bowled out for 100, Chorley then cruising home with almost four overs to spare.

In another dead rubber at West Cliff, Ross Bretherton made an unbeaten 90 in Leyland’s 154-2 as they beat Preston by 42 runs.

All three teams could have progressed in South 1 at the start of the day but Fleetwood’s 28-run victory over St Annes saw them through thanks to a superior run rate.

Blackpool also got the better of St Annes with a three-wicket win.

Netherfield won four games out of four in North 1, their perfect record finished off with a 68-run win over Barrow at Ernest Pass, the group completed by Penrith.
