Leyland set to host major British bowls competition

The British Crown Green National Bowling Association World Club Championship is coming to Leyland this week.

Starting on Sunday 20 March teams from across the UK will compete every Sunday over a five-week period to be crowned British bowls champions at Leyland Fox Lane Sports and Social Club, Fox Lane, Leyland.

David Bradshaw, chairman of Fox Lane bowling club says it is a great coup for the town. He said: “We have teams coming from Scotland, the North East and down South to compete. The teams will play each other and the final will be held on April 17. We have got the contract for the next three years, it is great for the club and we hope a lot of people will come and watch.”
