Lancashire set the pace despite washout

Lancashire are the clear leaders in division one of the Specsavers County Championship, even though their match with Middlesex at Lord's was abandoned when rain meant there was no play on day four.

Middlesex had been due to resume their first innings on 419 for five in reply to 513, but the weather meant not a single ball was bowled.

The result moves Lancashire nine points clear of reigning champions Yorkshire, who are second having played a game less, while Middlesex took 11 from the contest, lifting them into third.
