Garstang ladies hockey club beat local rivals Longridge 4-1.
The game began at an intense pace with play switching from end to end.
Garstang opened the scoring first with a well-worked penalty corner ending with Fran Summers lobbing the keeper.
Longridge were pushing for an equaliser with two danger players on the wing and in the central midfield attacking with great pace and skill.
The Garstang defence held firm right until the final minute of the first half when the unmarked centre-back picked up the ball at the top of the D and slotted into the right-hand corner.
Garstang were under some pressure for the first 10 minutes of the second half and needlessly gave away possession in some dangerous areas.
The backline of Sarah Skelton, Georgie Brumwell, Lindsay Thornhill, Donna Richardson and Debs Huyton did not give an inch and relieved the pressure time after time.
Jen Moss, on the left of midfield, was putting in a player-of-the-match performance and s howed some great determined play.
Garstang forced another set-piece and Rebecca Worthington got her first of the afternoon finishing the move.
It was only another five minutes before she completed her double.
Garstang put the final nail in the coffin when Diane Roe played a strong ball across the D in a penalty corner move, only for the Longridge player to defelect into her own net.
