Springfields Ladies 1sts won the Premier Division North Hockey League title after beating Bowden ladies 2nds 2-1.
Springs finished level on points with Doncaster Ladies 1sts but pipped the Yorkshire women to the top spot on goal difference and won promotion back to the North Division National League.
Springfields found themselves top of the league in February. With the pressure firmly on they managed to secure wins against two of their closest rivals, Neston and Doncaster.
So their title fight went down to their away match against Durham University.
But Springs buckled against a team who were battling to stay in the league, losing 3-2.
Springfields travelled to Bowden knowing three points against a team that had led the league for much of the season would clinch the title.
Springs were 1-0 up at half-time and doubled their lead in the second half.
But then Bowden managed to convert one of their short corners to set up a tense final 10 minutes but Springfields held firm.
