Garstang Ladies Hockey Club 1sts ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Rossall.
With a delayed push-back Garstang were keen to start.
Play started brightly but the Reds were unable to capitalise on their goalscoring opportunities.
Lindsay Thornhill, Lyndsey Hayes and Josie Rice were displaying great vision as they distributed the ball well from the middle of the park.
Rossall crammed the attacking D with all 11 players, making it very difficult for Garstang to convert.

Garstang knew that they were going to have to draw the play out in order to score.
Within 10 minutes, Catherine Godbold won a penalty corner.
A great strike from winger, and player of the match, Alice Matthews opened the scoring.
Vicky Bradley, Debs Huyton, Donna Richardson and Nikki Oddie were passing the ball around the back very confidently and were drawing Rossall players out of there half.
Fran Summers and Becky Worthington were running riot around the Rossall defence going very close to scoring on numerous occasions.
With another penalty corner being awarded, Matthews again rattled the backboard to double Garstang’s advantage.
