Pendle are the leaders, having won all their games so far, with the exception of a draw against Garstang earlier in the season.

The Red Army won their first penalty corner a few minutes in to the game and forced a great, full-stretch toe save from the young Pendle keeper.

After 10 minutes, Pendle won their first short corner and they opened the scoring when a loose ball was lifted over Garstang goalkeeper Sarah Skelton.

On the break, Alice Matthews forced another good save from the Pendle keeper.

In the 24th minute, Skelton made a great diving save and she was called into action once more with a brilliant full-stretch stick save.

With minutes to go to the interval, Debs Huyton put a great through ball into the D which Christy Martin came close to converting.

Garstang Ladies started the second half well.

Andthey were level when Fran Summers neatly crossed to Di Roe who fired home.

It capped a fine player-of-the-match-show from Roe.

The visitors now had Pendle worried but could not make their superiority count and that was to prove costly.

After 22 minutes of the second half, Pendle went back in front and they quickly made the game safe with the third soon after.

Garstang never gave up, but were unable to breach the Pendle defence in the final few minutes.
