Simon Grayson: PNE answered critics with QPR win

Simon Grayson felt his Preston North End side answered a few critics as they picked up their first points of the season with a 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers.

Jermaine Beckford and Callum Robinson were on target as PNE ended a run of three straight defeats to start the Championship season at Loftus Road.

Grayson said: “I think from start to finish we were very good in all departments.

“We defended well when we were asked questions and going forwards we looked very lively.

“The midfield players did the jobs they were asked to do as well.

“We went back to basics a bit with what we needed to do but when you limit a team like QPR to very few opportunities and we maybe could have scored a couple more ourselves it’s a good day all round.

“It answers one or two critics from over the last couple of weeks. It might keep one or two people quiet for a few weeks to come.”
