Sheffield Wednesday sell out allocation for PNE opener

There will be a packed away end at Deepdale on the opening day of the new Championship season.

Preston North End host Sheffield Wednesday and the Owls have already sold out their allocation of 5,706 10 days ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday, August 5.

The tickets only went on sale on Monday and have been snapped up in three days.

More than 4,000 made the trip across the Pennines last season for the 1-1 draw on New Year’s Eve, Adam Reach scoring a late equaliser for the visitors.

The Owls are expected to one of the favourites for promotion having missed out in the play-offs the last two seasons.

North End are hoping for a bumper crowd with season ticket sales higher than in recent years with interest sure to be high in Alex Neil’s first competitive game in charge.
