REVEALED: How much Morecambe spent on agents' fees

Morecambe spent the sum of £18,718 on agents' fees in the last year according to figures released by the FA.

The figures, which apply for the period between February 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020, show that only four clubs in League Two spent a smaller amount than the Shrimps.

Macclesfield Town (£825), Crawley Town (£1,000), Oldham Athletic (£2,570) and Crewe Alexandra (£3,000) were the only teams spending less on fees.

At the other end of the scale, Bradford City topped the division with £114,010, followed by Salford City (£111,619) and Scunthorpe United (£107,345) as League Two clubs spent a total sum of £1,170,220.

In Morecambe's case, the money was spent on acquiring the services of 14 players.

It covered new deals for Sam Lavelle, Luke Conlan, Aaron Wildig, Jordan Cranston, A-Jay Leitch-Smith and Carlos Mendes-Gomes, as well as the arrivals of Tom Brewitt, Michael Howard, Cole Stockton, Adam Buxton, John O'Sullivan, Lewis Alessandra, Toumani Diagouraga and Christian Mbulu.

Premier League clubs paid a total of £263,368,860 to agents during this period, Championship clubs spent £49,299,123, while the figure was £3,921,805 in League One and £319,634 in the National League.
