Renno hoping for Brig finish in final 10 games

Brig are 10 points behind fifth-placed Colne with two games in hand and a tasty clash with their NPL First Division North rivals on the horizon with nine league games of the campaign to go.

Silverware is also in touching distance with Brig facing a quarter-final clash with NPL Premier Division side Ashton United at the end of the month.

And Reynolds says anything is possible in the final run-in.

He said: “The question on everybody’s lips is what can we do now in the final 10 games?

“We just want to keep going and we will treat every game with respect. Anything is achievable, we have got two games in hand over Colne and we play them in our final games. Until somebody tells us it is mathematically impossible then it is still on and we are not going to give up.”

Brig go into the clash at Farsley on Saturday on the back of a 4-0 defeat over play-off rivals Ossett Town.

Brig’s local rivals Lancaster City are level on points with Celtic and Reynolds says his side are hoping to do their fellow Lancastrians a favour by denting Farsley’s form with Stuart Vasey expected to return to the squad.

He said: “Farsley are a club that are flying and it will be a massive ask but we are going there full of confidence and hopefully we can come away with at least a point and build on it at our place.

“Simon Wiles my assistant has been to watch them. We know a lot about them, we know the way they play but they just scraped past Ossett Albion and we have got exciting forward players that can test them, we will get chances so hopefully we take them like we did on Saturday. We are hoping we can do Lancaster a favour and help them out by getting some points off them and we will be setting up to try and win the game.”
