No Preston North End players have made the final squad for the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup play-off with Denmark.

Sean Maguire misses out injured, the striker set to undergo surgery on a hamstring problem, and Alan Browne and Daryl Horgan have been cut from the provisional 34-man party originally named.

Martin O’Neill confirmed his squad of 27 on Monday with the first leg in Copenhagen on Saturday.

The sides then return to Dublin on Tuesday, November 14 for the second leg at the Aviva Stadium with a spot at Russia 2018 up for grabs.

It leaves Chris Maxwell, Wales, and Stephy Mavididi, England Under 20s, as the only PNE first-team players on international duty during the break from Championship action.
