North End welcome Swansea to Deepdale, with every win now a big one.

The Swans are a bit of an unknown quantity this season, being very good on their day but also failing to fire many weekends.

The North End faithful will be disappointed more new faces didn’t arrive but it’s time to cheer them on now.

I think there will be goals and North End at 7/2 to win with both teams scoring is a decent bet.

A 2-1 home at 8/1 could be just as good, whilst Daniel Johnson to score first at 15/2 is always worth a few quid.

The lunchtime kick-off between Leicester City and Chelsea looks very much one to avoid this weekend.

So attentions turn to the 3pm games and I can’t look past Aston Villa at 5/2 away at Bournemouth.

Villa are looking forward to a day at Wembley after their League Cup semi-final triumph over Leicester in midweek.

And I think they can roll this positivity on to the league.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe could do with some results – and quickly – on the South Coast, though I think they could struggle this weekend.

Heading back up the country, it could be a long trip home for Norwich City when they leave the North East.

Newcastle United are churning out results under Steve Bruce and won’t be feeling half the pressure that their visitors will be.

I think they should win and at 5/4 they’re just about good value.

To round the treble off nicely I cannot justify not putting the mighty Liverpool in there, even at 2/7.

They are matching towards the title and as good as Southampton have been lately, it’s hard to think they will get anything at Anfield. The treble pays 9/1 and must have every chance.

The bet of the weekend in the racing for me looks like SHARJAH in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown (3:10).

Willie Mullins has a strong hand in the race and every reason to be confident in Sharjah, after he won the Matheson last month. At 2/1 it has every chance.
