"I probably would have taken just coming on today and getting a feel for a match-day again," he said.

"But to come on and get a brace and win the game is massive for us and gives us real momentum going into next week.

"Personally it's been a really tough four months mentally.

"(Physio) Matt Jackson's been unbelievable with me, he has to take a lot of credit for getting me back this strong and this fit 16 weeks after I did my hamstring.

"To grab two goals to give the team three points is unbelievable."
