Rangers have announced the signing of Joe Garner from Preston North End on a three-year contract.
Deepdale officials however say the paperwork on the deal, understood to be worth in the region of £1.7 million, is yet to be officially finalised and should be completed by the end of the weekend.
As an international deal, the move has to be registered through FIFA’s transfer system.
The completion of the move has dragged on longer than anticipated with North End giving permission for Garner to talk to the Scottish giants as early as last Tuesday.
The front man is likely to be in the Ibrox crowd to watch Rangers’ game with Motherwell this afternoon as his three-and-a-half years with PNE comes to an end.
