Footage posted on social media saw Fisher twice make a grab at the genital area of Wednesday forward Callum Paterson while they waited for the visitors to take a corner in the closing stages of the game which PNE won 1-0.

Speaking on Monday morning at a Zoom press conference, Neil said: We haven't heard anything from anyone at the moment.

"Because of the sensitive nature of it, I can't really comment on it. That is basically where we are at."

Asked whether the nature of social media meant Fisher has already been judged, Neil tended to agree.

Neil said: "I think that is what happens nowadays because of the power of social media. The trial has been done and they have been found whatever before anything has taken place.

"We are not in control of that so there is nothing we can do - it is what it is. We just need to get on with it."
