The defender missed the 1-0 defeat to Millwall last Saturday with a minor hamstring problem, but he is expected to be in the squad for the visit of the Tigers.

Preston boss Alex Neil did reveal that young midfielder Tom Bayliss has undergone an operation to repair an ankle injury and is now likely to miss the rest of the season.

"Tom's had surgery now," Neil said. "What we did is, we had a look at his ankle because it looked a bit lax.

"We were hoping, sometimes it strengthens itself and then it turns out that you don't need surgery.

"We got the surgeon to go and have a look if it was okay to just patch it up and be three or four weeks.

"But when he's had a look it needed fixing, so he's fixed it and he'll be on the mend now but I doubt we'll see him again this season."

Forward Billy Bodin has been struggling with an Achilles injury, but is making good progress but is unlikely to be ready for this weekend.
