The defender missed the wins over Bristol City and Derby County but got the nod to return in place of Scott Sinclair who was sidelined by a hamstring strain.

Hughes coming in meant a formation change, with PNE in all likelihood starting in a 3-5-2 with Hughes at the back with Paul Huntington and Ben Davies.

That will push Josh Earl out into a left wing-back role, with Darnell Fisher doing the job on the other side of the pitch.
