Ian Harte, the former Premier League and Republic of Ireland full-back, represents the 19-year-old, who moved to Spurs from Leeds United for £10million last year.

Replying to a story published by Birmingham Live, which understood Clarke was close to signing on a season-long loan, Harte tweeted: “Not true!!!”.

QPR eye former Spurs man
