As reported earlier, the Lilywhites are pushing hard to seal possible last-minute incomings ahead of the transfer deadline, one week today.

But they aren’t the only ones – here’s a round-up of the stories making the headlines today from around the Championship:

Bayern eye shock Aarons deal

Bayern Munich are lining up a shock bid for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, according to the Daily Mail.

The German giants have turned their attention towards the 20-year-old after missing out on Ajax full-back Sergino Dest to Barcelona.

Ronald Koeman’s Barca had attempted to sign Aarons before swooping for Dest but their £20million loan-to-buy offer was rejected.

Bayern, however, could be the latest team to test the Canaries’ resolve, who battle to keep hold of their key players.

West Ham United will submit a £15m bid for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon as their search for a central defender continues.

According to Football Insider, the Hammers are ready to table an opening offer after being given hope of sealing a deal.

David Moyes has been on the lookout for a new centre-back this summer with failed attempts to land Burnley’s James Tarkowski and St Etienne’s Wesley Fofana.

Rodon, a Wales international, has two years remaining on his current contract but is keen to play in the Premier League.

West Brom discuss Grant loan

West Bromwich Albion are trying to finalise a loan-to-buy deal for Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant.

The Terriers want between £16-£18m for Grant but the Express & Star report money is tight at the Hawthorns, so they want the deal to be an initial loan.

It is believed both clubs have held talks over a deal that would see Albion pay a £5m loan fee and then £13m next summer - if Slaven Bilic’s men retain their top-flight status.

In 43 Championship appearances last season, Grant struck 19 goals - the fourth highest in the division.

Godfrey in-demand

Norwich City have received an approach from Fulham for defender Ben Godrey, as per Football Insider.

Daniel Farke’s side are not keen on letting the 22-year-old depart as they bid to return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Meanwhile, The Athletic claims Godfrey is on Everton’s radar with a loan move for Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori looking unlikely.

The former York City man signed a new deal at Carrow Road last summer, which still has three years remaining.
