Browne is in a 26-man squad for three games during the international break, starting with the friendly against Gareth Southgate's side on Thursday, November 12.

The Irish then play Wales in Cardiff on November 15 and Bulgaria at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on November 18, both of those being Nations League matches.

There is no place in the squad for Browne's PNE team-mate Sean Maguire, although he was a late call-up in the October international break.

Browne had an eventful time with the Ireland squad last month, making a lively impact from the bench in the European Championship qualifier play-off semi-final against Slovakia.

But he was to have a penalty saved in the shoot-out as Slovakia went through to the play-off final.

The 25-year-old then had to miss the following matches against Wales and Finland after being a close contact of a team-mate who tested positive for Covid-19.

Former North End players Callum Robinson and Daryl Horgan are in the squad alongside Browne.
