Preston North End sign Ched Evans and Greg Cunningham on permanent deals

Preston North End have turned loan deals for Ched Evans and Greg Cunningham into permanent signings.

Evans moves from Fleetwood Town and Cunningham from Cardiff City, both on deals until the end of the season.

Both had come in on loan during the January transfer window, North End making seven loan signings in total.

EFL rules only permit five loan players to be named in a match day squad, so rather than leave two of the loanees out every game PNE sought permanent moves for striker Evans and left-back Cunningham.

Both were in the final stages of their contracts with their previous clubs so were the most straight forward to complete.

Clubs are permitted to turn loans into permanent ,moves outside of the transfer window.

North End announced the signings ahead of their Championship clash with Rotherham United at Deepdale.
