Preston North End's Brad Potts has message for the fans

The Lilywhites have been fairly active so far, bringing in four players – Freddie Woodman, Dai Cornell, Ben Woodburn and Robbie Brady.

Woodman and Cornell were necessities as Lowe had no senior goalkeepers following the departures of Daniel Iversen, Declan Rudd and Connor Ripley since the start of last season.

Woodburn and Brady both signed after successful trials with North End, the former scoring in the friendly agaisnt Bamber Bridge.

Lowe is still looking to bring in a handful more bodies this summer, with wing backs and strikers still a priority.

He told the Lancashire Post: “It's probably like every summer, we have to try and be a step ahead.

"Recruitment started a while ago as I said before the back end of the season, on what type of player we wanted.

"That type of player hasn't changed but personnels do change, some are available, some are not.

"Some may exercise options on the contracts, some don't want to stay at their clubs but they've had to.

"There's money involved, people will ask for silly money for players that they are just not going to get.

"I get it, it's fine, but ultimately we just have to make sure we keep plugging away on the right ones.”

PNE will not sell their soul to get their desired targets throught the door, they are looking for appetite on the player’s side too.

Players signed so far this summer have all got points to prove for different reasons.

Lowe continued: "We need to make sure that the ones we're after, or I'm after as the manager of Preston North End, want to represent us as well.

"They have to give me something that says they know what this club is about.

"I've put on many presentations over the last few weeks for players, whether it's me or them, or the agent, it doesn't really matter.

"If it's not right, it's not right. Ultimately we've just got to continue that, but it is exciting.

"Is it tough out there? Yeah, of course. We won't be rushed into anything. We're quite patient and quite calm in everything we do at the moment.”
