Preston North End manager discusses West Bromwich Albion striker, Blackburn Rovers agree Liverpool deal

The North End boss has been discussing previous comments made about one reported transfer target.

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has been working hard to prepare his squad for the new Championship season.

With a week to go until the opening day trip to newly promoted Wigan Athletic, Lowe has added four new faces to his squad and hopes are high that a much improved season lies in wait.

Highly-rated goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has completed a move from Newcastle United and he will compete for a place between the sticks with fellow new boy David Cornell.

And Lowe showed his prudent side with the arrivals of free transfer duo Ben Woodburn and Robbie Brady from Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.

More new faces will follow and Lowe is believed to be targeting a striker to boost his side’s chances of pushing towards a play-off place this season.

With just a week to go, the Evening Post takes a look at the latest transfer speculation surrounding North End and their Championship rivals.
