Match Report: Preston North End 0-0 Rotherham United - PNE frustrated at Deepdal...

The home side had chance after chance in the game and somehow didn’t find the net. It was by no means a bad performance by Lowe’s side, who bossed the game throughout and did create multiple chances to open the scoring.

In the end however they were left thinking of what might have been, as they earned their third draw of four Championship games this season.

“I must say, I'm really proud,” Lowe said.

"Everything we do in training on a daily basis is being replicated on the pitch on a matchday.

"We would have loved goals, of course we would, but I thought the performance was absolutely fantastic. That's what I'm pleased about, if we're not getting through on goal or creating chances then it'd be a worry, there is no worry there.

"Would I have loved three points? 100 per cent I would have but it's the old cliche, if you can't win it then don't lose it.

"They still had some chances but you have to give them credit, they put bodies on the line and did everything a Paul Warne team does and didn't roll over.

"If we score early on, who knows, it could be different. I'm proud of the group and the performance.”

After PNE’s only Championship goal of the season so far on Saturday in spectacular fashion, Lowe was thinking the opposite could have been on the cards at Deepdale.

Brad Potts’ stunner on Saturday was nearly followed up by a thunderbolt from the right wing back, but for the Millers ‘keeper tipping it onto the bar.

Lowe said: “In the end I was sitting down and thinking, because we scored a worldie at the weekend, it could be a ricochet or an own goal - then Pottsy turns up with a bullet.

"I think the 'keeper actually makes a fantastic save. I don't know what I'd have done if it had gone in - he actually said he'd have walked down the tunnel!

"I thought the performance warranted three points. We changed things and it's really pleasing to see. We know we need to start turning those points into wins.”
