Preston North End boss Alex Neil shortlisted for manager of the month award

Neil is on a four-man shortlist with Brentford's Thomas Frank, Daniel Farke at Norwich City and Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael.

The winner will be announced on Friday morning.

Neil's nomination read: "Overcoming the inconsistency which plagued his side’s start to the season has proved a challenge to Neil, but an eye-catching 3-2 victory at Bournemouh heralded a month in which they collected 16 points from eight games."

Following the win at Bournemouth, North End also beat Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Derby County and Coventry City.

They draw with Wycombe Wanderers and lost to Luton Town and Barnsley.
