North End return to Deepdale (7pm) having garnered six points on the road over the past week.

While Huddersfield were open and expansive last Saturday, Millwall will not push forward with the same freedom, predicts PNE boss Neil.

“Millwall have adopted a 3-4-3 system which have served them very well,” he said.

“This will be a totally different test than the ones of the last few days.

“Gary Rowett has gone in there and done a really good job.

“They’ve recruited well since Gary went in, bringing in Ryan Woods, Mason Bennett, Scott Malone and Kenneth Zohore.”

Woods, Malone, Zohore and the injured Troy Parrott have all come in on loan, with Bennett turning last season’s loan into a permanent move in the summer.

Neil said: “Millwall are a tough team to break down, they are set up to counter attack more than anything.

“We’ve got a few teams like that coming up so we need to find a solution to breaking them down.”

Millwall, who will be without Rowett and his senior coaching staff due to them self-isolating, come to Lancashire having taken 12 points from their first seven Championship games.

They have beaten Rotherham, Wycombe and Luton, drawn with Stoke and Barnsley, while their one defeat was at Swansea.
