Preston North End defender Sean St. Ledger will wear the No.4 shirt from the start of the new season.

Having previously worn No.12 for North End, the Republic of Ireland international takes over the shirt from the transfer-listed Richard Chaplow.

The news comes a few days after PNE chairman Maurice Lindsay announced a new shirt sponsorship deal with Scottish brewer Tennent’s.

New signing Paul Hayes will wear the No.8 shirt, whilst Craig Morgan and Wayne Brown will wear No.2 and No.5 respectively.

On-loan Manchester United youngster Matty James, who captained England Under-19s on Sunday, will be wearing
the No.6 shirt when the Lilywhites line up against Doncaster on August 7 at Deepdale.

His midfield partner Paul Coutts will succeed Chris Sedgwick as No.7. Keith Treacy has been given No.11, whilst young duo Danny Mayor and Adam Barton will sport No.14 and No.15.

Darren Ferguson’s new-look squad sees a host of youngsters included. George Miller will be No.39, Jamie Proctor 38 and Neil Dougan 36.

Transfer-listed trio Chaplow, Neal Trotman, and Darren Carter have all had their numbers changed to 34, 40, and 41.
