North End weren't without their own chances, hitting the bar a few times, and the deciding penalty was also surrounded with controversy.

5. Andrew Hughes - 7
Solid and bright down the left side, appeared in important places to cover and some good headers away from set pieces. Looks right back up to pace.
6. Ryan Ledson - 6
Put the yards in but didn't really have the effect he can normally have on the game, played a few nice passes forward but we're used to those more regularly.
7. Tom Bayliss - 7
Gave a good account of himself on his first league start, showed he was up to the task and looks to be positive.
8. Tom Barkhuizen - 6
Looked the most likely of the PNE players to score but couldn't put away the chances that fell to him, hitting the bar with one.
