Preston North End midfielder Alan Browne has signed a new three-year contract.
The deal extends his stay at Deepdale until June 2020, it replacing his previous contract which ran until 2019.
Browne won his first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in the summer and has made 116 appearances for North End since joining from Cork City in January 2014.
After signing the new deal, 22-year-old Browne said: "I think every year since I've been here, I have agreed a new contract and it is great for me to know that the club is putting that confidence in me and hopefully I can return that to the club.
"I have come a long way since I joined.
"There have been a lot of ups and downs and it has just been great for me overall to progress like I have and now to continue to do so under the new manager is something exciting for me."
Browne is likely to feature in North End's final pre-season friendly game against Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium on Friday night.
