Liverpool boss speaks out on Preston North End transfer, Brentford snap up promising starlet

Preston North End will look to continue their push towards the play-off places this weekend, when they take on Rotherham United at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.

The Lillywhites have failed to beat the Millers in their last four attempts, and will be out for revenge following their last encounter, back in November, which saw Paul Warne's side snatch an 86th minute winner at the New York Stadium.

A win for Preston could see them move into the top ten, with just under half the season left to play, and would be a real morale boost following a season of mixed fortunes for the club thus far.

It will be fascinating to see which new Preston signings are involved, after Stoke City's Liam Lindsay, Liverpool's Sepp van den Berg, and Everton's Anthony Gordon all arrived on deadline day loan deals, following the departure of Ben Davies to Premier League champions Liverpool.

No fewer than eight new players arrived at Deepdale last month, giving Lilywhites boss Alex Neil a wealth of quality options to integrate into his side. He'll be hoping the new recruits can gel as quickly as possible, and give the club an added edge in the push for the play-offs over the coming months.

Here's out round-up of all the latest news and transfer talk involving Preston North End and a number of their divisional rivals:
