The combative midfielder has played 148 times for PNE and is on 199 career games in all competitions, having been on loan with Barnsley from Manchester United before his arrival at Deepdale.

Centre-half Ben Davies has played 199 league games, 111 of them for PNE and the others during the varying loan spells he had in the search for first-team experience.

Declan Rudd has now turned out in 149 league games wearing the Lilywhites’ goalkeeper jersey.

In midfield Ryan Ledson needs to play one more game to reach 150 career appearances.

Outings had dried up for him this season, mainly due to Pearson being available more often in the holding midfield role.

The PNE squad’s senior figure, Paul Gallagher, is only three games away from making 600 appearances in his career.

Gallagher has made 291 of those for North End, scoring 44 goals.

The Lilywhites’ players, like their counterparts in many countries, are in a state of limbo at the moment as they wait for firmer news on when football might restart.

They trained earlier in the week but have since had a few days off.

This is likely to be a good time for a break from the training ground, with it being six weeks at the earliest that the season might resume.

If this season can be played to a conclusion in the summer then the break before the start of the 2020/21 campaign would be shorter.

It has been reported that the EFL will monitor the health and fitness of players at all 71 clubs over the coming weeks as part of the decision making as to when the season might restart.

The EFL want regular updates via an online questionnaire as they put together plans to get things going again.
