Preston North End have completed the signing of striker Joe Garner.
The front man has signed an 18-month contract with the option of a further year.
Garner, 24, had his contract at Watford cancelled by mutual consent on Monday, and joins North End as a free agent.
He’s been given the No.14 shirt by PNE and goes straight into the squad for Thursday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy northern semi-final against Coventry at the Ricoh Arena.
Earlier in the season, Garner had a three month loan spell with Carlisle, one of his eight goals for the Cumbrian side coming against Preston in November’s 1-1 draw at Deepdale.
Born in Lancashire, he started his career at Blackburn Rovers.
