Sir Tom Finney’s son Brian and England boss Roy Hodgson will make the draw for the FA Cup quarter-final at Deepdale before Preston’s fifth-round tie against Manchester United.
The match, a week on Monday, falls two days after the first anniversary of Sir Tom’s death.
Hodgson will join Gary Lineker in the Match of the Day studio ahead of PNE’s first meeting with United since 1972.
He and Brian Finney will draw the balls that will determine the last-eight fixtures, meaning PNE will know their potential prize for beating Louis van Gaal’s United side, prior to kick-off.
The Evening Post will be marking both the cup collision and the anniversary of Sir Tom’s passing with two 16-page publications.
The first, inside next Saturday’s Evening Post, will look back to the sad events of 12 months ago when the city said farewell to a legend.
And on the day of the FA Cup clash with United, we will produce a special edition of The Gentry, as a 16-page preview of the big match.
