Alex Neil’s side make the trip to Kenilworth Road looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to four matches, having recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Middlesbrough in midweek.

For the Hatters, their early season momentum has slowed considerably in recent weeks, and they have picked up just one win in their last seven outings.

A 0-0 draw against Coventry City on Tuesday night kept the points column ticking over, and Prutton has backed them to replicate that outcome this weekend.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “Just one win in seven for Luton, now. That may concern Nathan Jones a little, but the position they are in, so far off the relegation zone, shows it's been a fantastic season so far.

Preston put Middlesbrough to the sword in midweek, which will do so much for their confidence in home games. That may ease the pressure on them a little to perform on the road, but I think the Hatters will be good for a point.”

Prutton predicts a 2-2 draw.

Preston enjoyed a relatively successful time against Luton last season.

North End beat the Hatters 2-1 back in December, and drew 1-1 at Kenilworth Road in the reverse fixture in June.

Luton haven’t beaten Preston since 2006, when goals from Rowan Vine and Carlos Edwards were enough to secure them a 2-0 home win over the Lilywhites.
