Davies injured his hamstring just before half-time against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and was replaced by Jordan Storey.

North End will check on the fitness of Ben Pearson ahead of travelling to Griffin Park, the midfielder having also had to come off in the Forest game after getting a bang on the knee.

Speaking on a Zoom press conference on Monday evening, North End manager Alex Neil said: "Ben Davies has got a little nick of his hamstring so he unfortunately isn't going to be available.

"Ben Pearson we will wait until tomorrow to see how he is."

Neil said the busy schedule has caught up with Davies who had started every game since the restart.

"It's an over-use injury, a soft tissue injury," said Neil.

"Normally you get those if you've had some intense days. Ben has been involved in all the matches."

Alan Browne missed the Forest game with a calf strain and Neil admitted the midfielder was touch and go for Brentford.

Neil said: "Alan will be another late shout.

"We will give him every chance but it is a quick turnaround. We've got our fingers crossed for him."
