LIVE: PNE vs Bristol City

Bristol City get the game underway!

Goal Bristol City. 0-1.

Chris Martin is slid in down the left side of the box and finishes calmly across goal into the corner.

Too slack defensively

PNE have not started the game well when it comes to their pressing and preventing their visitors from playing.

Bristol City had worked their way out easily before the goal, and the ease of which they had room on the edge of the box for Weimann to play in Martin will frustrate Ryan Lowe.

Semenyo volleys over

Dasilva beats Cunningham to check inside and cross, the initial cross is headed out but only as far as Semenyo who lets fly on the volley which goes just over the bar.

O’Dowda shot blocked

Bristol City are piling on the pressure at Deepdale, after a couple of the corners the ball once again is towards the PNE goal and O’Dowda sees a shot blocked from inside the area.

Martin collects the ball and sprays it wide to O’Dowda who cuts inside but can’t keep the strike down.

North End are slack at the back again, Semenyo gets to the corner of the six yard box and crosses for Weimann who has an empty goal to aim at and somehow manages to steer it past the far post.

Scott takes aim from distance but drags it wide of the post.

Two more minutes added on

There will be two more minutes added on at the end of the first half.

Half Time: PNE 0-1 Bristol City

North End have it all to do in the second half as they go into the break behind.

Bristol City have been the better side and deserve their lead, Andreas Weimann sliding a ball through for Chris Martin to smarly finish.

On the flip side, PNE have not yet really tested the Robins’ ‘keeper.
