Preston North End transfer target Tendayi Darikwa has joined Burnley.
The Lilywhites had a bid around the £600,000 mark accepted by Chesterfield earlier this week and club officials met with the right-back on Wednesday night.
Burnley put in a similar offer and held talks with Darikwa on Thursday afternoon, North End pulling out of their attempts to land him while the player was in negotiations with the Clarets.
Darikwa has signed three-year contract at Turf Moor and could make his debut in Saturday’s friendly against Bradford City.
He played against Burnley for Chesterfield last weekend, putting in a strong performance which caught the eye of Sean Dyche.
North End have another right-back target in mind and will look to put a deal in place over the coming days.
