The central defender is hoping to shake off a slight injury to face Greece in a friendly at the Docklands Stadium, in Melbourne, which kicks-off at 7pm local time Down Under.

Wright sat out Saturday’s 1-0 win over Greece in Sydney, but played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to England at the Stadium of Light the previous week.

His PNE team-mate, striker Jordan Hugill, told the Evening Post: “I went to watch Bailey play for Australia against England.

“A few of us got free tickets from Bailey and we went in the Australia end.

“I thought he did really well in the game – he coped well against Premier League strikers.

“I’m not saying this because he’s a team-mate but I thought Bailey really stood out in the Australia side.”
