Preston North End midfielder Keith Keane has joined Crawley Town on a 93-day emergency loan.
Keane, 27, had not featured for PNE this season after falling down the pecking order, both in midfield and at right-back.
The loan officially starts on Friday, although Keane travelled to West Sussex on Tuesday to agree terms on the move.
Keane joined North End on a Bosman after leaving Luton Town in June 2012 and has made 77 appearances.
Crawley manager John Gregory said: “He’s a winner, plain and simple, and he’s a leader too.
“Keith always wants the ball, he has a great engine and fantastic ability and we’re thrilled he’s agreed to come down for the next three months.
“He was captain quite a few times for Preston last season which says a lot about him as a leader.”
North End have agreed to let Keane play in the FA Cup and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
