PNE aiming to win something with kids

Preston North End will do a tour of local schools to push their season ticket offer.

Tickets for the 2017/18 campaign went on sale on Tuesday morning.

The Lilywhites are offering Under-11s free season tickets as they look to boost crowds at Deepdale and introduce a new generation of supporters.

There is a new concessionary rate for 11 to 
18 year-olds, a 19 to 21 young adult category and one for those aged 22 to 24 in full-time education or with an 
apprenticeship.

Under-11s supporters who choose not to get a season ticket can gain admission on a game-by-game basis for £2 around the ground and £1 in the Sir Tom Finney Stand family zone.

PNE club secretary and head of communications Ben Rhodes, told the Post: “We are going to visit all the local 
primary schools after the 
half-term holidays to spread the message.

“All children currently in year 5 and below are entitled to free season tickets.

“When we go into schools, every child will get stickers, a brochure and a letter from the manager.

“We think this is a strong offer and a way to encourage children to become regulars at Deepdale.

“Looking at it from a family point of view, if you have two children and had season tickets for them last season, this time you would saving £200.”

North End have launched a number of supporter videos on social media recently to promote season tickets, with that continuing into June.

Former WWE wrestler Wade Barrett was one of those featured, speaking about his first PNE game.

Said Rhodes: “We’ve been putting up the videos, giving people the opportunity to say how they became Preston fans and to share memories.

“Hopefully 
others will be inspired to join them.

“We’ve been working with a Preston-based company with regards to content on YouTube and Facebook.

“Among all that, we have not forgotten about our 
current season ticket holders or those who are lapsed 
season ticket holders.

“All season ticket holders are being written to so we can thank them for their support over the years.

“We are also writing to those supporters who in the last five years have chosen, for whatever reason, not to renew their season ticket.

“We want to tell them that we have missed them and try to get them back.”
