AFC Fylde will give a fitness test to Brad Barnes before finalising their line-up for their trip to Corby Town in National League North as the Coasters bid to maintain their promotion push.
Barnes has been nursing a neck injury and could figure on an important afternoon in the title chase.
The Coasters go into tomorrow’s clash with the Steelmen one point adrift of the pacesetters Solihull Moors, who are away at Tamworth.
Akill Wright goes back into the squad after being ineligible for AFC Fylde’s 9-0 romp against Coleshill Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The trip to Corby will mark the end of Wright’s successful one-month loan spell, which AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor is keen to extend.
Challinor said: “Akil’s loan runs out on Saturday, and if Fleetwood agree to let him extend it, we will have to be a little bit clever and cute about when it starts, because our next match after Corby is in the FA Cup, for which he would be cup-tied again.
“We have been in dialogue with Fleetwood about continuing his loan to see just where we are with it.
“A new manager, Steven Pressley, has come in there and a lot depends on him and how Akil fits into their squad at the moment.
“We would like to extend his loan because he has been very good for us.”
Southport are away to Kidderminster Harriers in the National League.
