Neil Crowe has urged his Bamber Bridge side to convert their cup form into an assault on the NPL First Division North table.
Brig are fresh off an impressive 4-2 replay victory against Goole AFC in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.
A win over the Yorkshiremen handed Brig a home tie against Skelmersdale United in the next round.
But whilst Crowe’s men are performing in the cup competitions, their league form has stuttered. Brig currently sit 16th in the table having won just one of their first six league fixtures.
But after Tuesday night’s win, Crowe wants his side to carry the momentum into tomorrow’s trip to New Mills.
“I thought we were excellent against Goole,” the Brig chief said.
“There manager said we should have beaten them on Saturday and they had no right to be playing us on Tuesday.
“We want to get on a run of wins now and start putting some points on the board.
“I don’t know a lot about New Mills as they’ve already had three managers this season.”
Crowe is on the verge of boosting his front line with the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Joel.
Joel is expected join the squad at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium on a one-month loan deal. The-18-year-old impressed in the youth set-up at Rovers last year scoring 18 goals in 42 appearances for the Under-18s and 21s.
Joel is expected to be in the squad for tomorrow’s league fixture.
Boss Crowe hopes the addition of Joel can help give Brig a much needed boost in front of goal.
“My assistant Neil Reynolds watched Sam train and he was very impressed,” he added.
“Sam gives us another option up front as he can play across the front three.
“Ideally I want to be playing with two strikers now. I think it’s only a matter of time before the chances we are creating start going in.”
Former AFC Fylde defender Dave Hankin will be in tomorrow’s squad and colleague Glenn Steel will also make a return after missing the midweek fixture.
Elsewhere in the NPL First Division North, Simon Garner’s Clitheroe host Ossett Town. Kendal Town make the trip to Witton Albion whilst Burscough are at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic.
