AFC Fylde remain top of the Conference North thanks to Danny Rowe’s solitary goal against a physical North Ferriby side that just could not find the back of the net.
Rowe scored the only goal on 36 minutes when Adam Nicklin let Richie Allen’s square ball slip under his glove, which allowed the striker to tap in from close range in acres of space.
The visitors created countless chances through Tom Denton, Adam Bolder and Nathan Jarman but could not get through a solid Fylde defence.
Five minutes before the break, North Ferriby were unlucky not to equalise when Liam King headed a deep cross against the outside of Hinchliffe’s post and wide.
The second period was just as even with both sides trading possession and shots at goal.
Denton saw one point-blank header saved before firing inches over the bar after a goalmouth scramble, all within a minute of the restart.
Bolder forced a decent save from Hinchliffe four minutes later and Nicklin was made to work hard to keep out Allen’s low strike.
After gaining their first Conference Premier away victory since August 2013, Southport came down to earth big style when they were beaten 5-2 at home by Woking.
The Sandgrounders fell victim to an early goal, Scott Rendell heading in a Joey Jones cross in the sixth minute.
Theo Lewis made it 2-0 after 53 minutes, before David Fitzpatrick scrambled the ball in for Port.
Giuseppe Sol’s free-kick made it 3-1, before Southport fought back and Luke Foster headed in a corner in the 80th minute.
But two late goals from Rendell, the second a penalty, completed his hat-trick and Port’s misery.
