In The National League North, AFC Fylde were 2-1 winners at FC United of Manchester.

Captain Tom Hannigan headed the Coasters into the lead shortly before the break and Danny Rowe doubled the advantage with a sensational second-half strike.

The home side ensured a nervy end to the match when Harry Winter glanced a header into the far corner, but Dave Challinor’s side held on to three precious points.

Elsewhere in the division, Clitheroe had goals from Sefton Gonzales and Louis Mayers to tanks fore a 2-1 victory at home to Radcliffe Borough.

Lancaster City were 3-1 winners at Harrogate Railway Athletic. Billy Akrigg, Tom Kilifin and a late Ryan Winder penalty did the damage for the Dolly Blues.

Burscough won 2-0 at Witton Albion, Will Jones scoring both goals.

But Kendal Town were hammered 5-0 at home by Northwich Victoria, for whom Richard Bennett scored a hat-trick.

And after leading 3-0 with half-an-hour to go, Southport allowed Welling back into the game and had to settle in the end for a 3-3 draw which left them in 17th place in the National League table.

Barney Williams had twice cleared off the line for The Wings before Mike Phenix opened the scoring with a header for the Sandgrounders in the 37th minute.

Almost immediately, Welling won a penalty but Max Crocombe saved Scott Kashket’s weak low kick.

Josh Thompson volleyed a fierce shot from the edge of the box for the second goal in the 57th minute and, two minutes later, Mark O’Brien headed in Adam Blakeman’s corner.

It looked like the visitors were in for a thrashing but ex-Port forward Michael Bakare pulled one back in the 74th minute.

Substitute Sahr Kabba added a second with his first touch eight minutes later.

And the comeback was complete with one minute to go when Ian Gayle headed in a Kashket corner.
