Neil Reynolds’ men went ahead in the 29th minute through Macaulay Parkinson but Boro were level 10 minutes before half-time when Kurt Sherlock netted.

But 13 minutes from time, Matt Lawlor made it the perfect start for Bamber Bridge with the winner.

Also getting used to life at a new level, relegated Burscough suffered defeat in their NWCL Premier Division home game with 1874 Northwich, who won with a goal from Adam Whitlock.

After their midweek victory at Bradford Park Avenue, Southport continued their winning start to the season with a 1-0 triumph at Leamington on Saturday.

They now lie third in the National League North table on goal average, with Brackley Town and Darlington the only other teams with a 100% record after three games.
