As yet, North End have received no confirmation or information that their supporters were responsible for the letting off of a pyrotechnic.

The alleged incident was not included in either the referee or police reports from the match.

Smoke bombs have often cursed PNE away games over the past few years and the club had a suspended fine imposed on them for a past misdemeanour by their supporters.

It is believed that such suspended fines have a one-year time limit and that may now have elapsed..

“We fully support the police and stewards in ensuring that supporters who misbehave are dealt with appropriately.”
