There has been speculation that Birmingham have renewed their interest and that Sunderland had joined the chase.

But PNE sources say the only contact with them regarding Hugill was when Birmingham made a £2.5m bid early last week, one which was turned down.

Ipswich saw two bids turned down in January, while Wolves showed an interest earlier in the summer.

The 25-year-old missed Tuesday's friendly against Burnley with an injury which forced his substitution in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

He is a doubt for PNE's visit to Fleetwood Town on Friday night.

"If I'm being honest, there is nothing to talk about, there are no offers in right now.

"What was put in was rejected and that is basically where we are.

"Jordan is an important player for this club, he was top goalscorer last year and he has performed well in pre-season so far."
